Known for its long sandy beach, mild coastal climate and relaxed atmosphere, this destination offers a very different experience from Morocco's historic imperial cities. Much of the modern city was rebuilt after the devastating 1960 earthquake, giving it a more open and contemporary character, while the remains of the old Kasbah on the hill preserve an important part of its earlier history.
